Open Day - Sunday 14th April
Open Courts, all welcome! Join us for our annual season starter this coming Sunday 14th April and play tennis for free 10-3, meet members and coaches and/or drop by for a cuppa and chat. It would be great to see you!

Whether you'd like a game of singles or doubles or just want to bring the kids and knock a ball about over a net, feel free to drop by and see HPTC for yourself and enjoy some delicious refreshments whilst you do. Don't worry about kit or sporting spirit....everything will be ready and waiting for you, just come in comfortable clothing and trainers. We look forward to meeting you!
Introduction
Higher Poynton Tennis Club is a friendly local club established in 1925. It has a long history of providing tennis in the local community.
We are not a competitive club, but we do actively promote social tennis and we welcome players of all abilities and ages. We have a cosy club house with changing facilities and a small kitchen. refreshments of tea, coffee and juice are free and always avaliable.
We are in a super location, so check out our playing timetable and come and say hello, the kettle is always on!
Whats On
Walking Tennis
Wednesdays 10am - 12noon
Love tennis but looking for a gentler pace of play? Walking Tennis is safe, fun and inclusive and a fantastic way to stay active!
It’s a game that’s open to anyone - whether you’re a lifelong tennis player, a complete beginner or just need a bit more time to get into the swing of things, you can give the game a go in a supportive setting.
You can play tennis at any age and Walking Tennis offers an easy way to keep both body and mind active – while also enjoying the social side of being part of a tennis community.
Tipsy Tennis
Friday Nights 6 pm - 8pm (ish!)
A new initiative for this year is Friday night ‘tipsy tennis’. From 6-8 the courts will be reserved for members and guests to just turn up for a game. Visitors are also very welcome, but we'd ask them to pay the usual visitor fee if they want to play tennis. If you don't want to play just come along just for a drink and chat, and enjoy what we hope will be a good fun social evening.
It’s Bring Your Own at HPTC - so pick up your racquet, favourite tipple, and see you on Friday!
Ladies Tennis
Tuesday & Thursday 10am-12noon
Ladies of mixed abilities meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for fun and friendly tennis, with a cheerful tea and coffee break. We always look forward to meeting new ladies.
Mens Tennis
Tuesday & Thursday 2pm-4pm
It would be lovely to welcome some new members to play men's social tennis on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at 2pm with a cuppa thrown in!!
Adult & Junior Coaching
Available upon request and open to members and non-members.
